This is, as the CCAT-BHS.TXT file included here indicates, "the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, ed. K. Elliger and W. Rudolph (Stuttgart: Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, 1967/77). Copyright held by the German Bible Society, in cooperation with the United Bible Societies (UBS)."
As the same file explains, the texts are "distributed by the Center for Computer Analysis of Texts (CCAT) at the University of Pennsylvania for the use of students, teachers and scholars in study and education contexts. They are not to be used, either directly or indirectly, for commercial purposes without prior written consent of the various legal authors and developers identified below. If copies are made and given to other persons for NON COMMERCIAL use, those persons are also required to register with CCAT. . . . This is for legal and collaborative purposes only; no fees are involved."
Please take careful note of these conditions, and if you take a copy of one of these packages, make sure you register with CCAT or OTA (Oxford Text Archive), and use the texts only for the purposes indicated, unless you have obtained explicit permission from the copyright holders.
The OTA version of the BHS can be obtained from http://ota.ahds.ac.uk/, and a file here explains how to convert this to SIL Ezra ttf format. RTF file zipped (4K) However, for those who do not feel able to undertake this conversion, there are three additional packages here. The full SIL Hebrew Font System can be obtained from www.sil.org (Highly recommended) For the complete set for these purposes you will also need to download the "Additional files" as well. There are also Word 6 and Word 2000 macros here to convert the plain text output of these batch files to a fully formatted Word file. See the files in MACROS.ZIP. You will simply need to Create a macro with the name of, for example, Otabhs, and Copy/Paste the macro into it, just as it is. Run the macro, and it will do all the rest.
